Brightlingsea Lions |
Thirty years after the Lions Club of Clacton on Sea was set up by the Lions Clubs of Colchester and Brightlingsea, Clacton Lions have set up a Branch Club covering the Brightlingsea area. The original Brightlingsea Lions had folded in the 1990s.
The Branch now has five members with more potential members in the pipeline.
They meet on the first Wednesday in every month at the Royal British Legion in Sydney Street at Brightlingsea at 8.00 pm.
Anyone interested in becoming part of the Brightlingsea Lions and having a part in serving the local community can find out more by telephoning Bob on 0845 833 8726 or by e-mailing him on brightlingsea@clactonlions.co.uk.
In June, Brightlingsea Lions will be appearing with their caravan at the Brightlingsea Boat Show on both days. Come down and see them to help them raise money and also to learn about membership and Lions projects in the Tendring Area. They will also be giving away Message in a Bottle kits free of charge.
Brightlingsea Lions are also organising the Colne 25 cycle rides which will take place on Sunday 12th September and entry forms for the 5, 25 and 40 mile rides are now available from Fir Tree Café, Thorrington; Twiggy’s Florists, Brightlingsea; Dave’s Barber Shop, Brightlingsea and Brightlingsea Library. They are also available by clicking on this link or by e-mail from brightlingsea@clactonlions.co.uk or firtreefred@hotmail.co.uk or by calling: 01206 302830/303018 or 0845 833 8726.
